Entrepreneurs Guide to End the Year

As the year comes to a close and we wrap things up in our business, there are so many things to do, memories to make, and goals to reach. I get it - things feel super busy.

December is such a great time to tick off those final to-do’s, while also spending lots of down-time with family and friends.

There are a fews additions I’d like to suggest you add to your list of things to do before the year ends. These 6 things will help you round out the year, finish strong and feel prepared and ready to take on the new year.

Here are the 6 Things to do Before the End of The Year:

  • Evaluate Evaluate Evaluate!

I do this a LOT with my private clients this time of year, we review everything from high level, to their numbers, to their clients, and more. We can learn SO MUCH from what went well, and what didn’t go well in our business and set ourselves up for a better year ahead.

  • Reinforce Relationships

Throughout the year, you’ve had the opportunity to meet new people, work with customers and colleagues and develop relationships with awesome humans - use this time to pause and say THANK YOU! Whether it’s a thank you card, an email, or a fun DIY little gift, have fun with gratitude this time of year and say thanks to all of the people you have in your life and business.

  • Reach out and get reviews!

This is a great time of year to ask the people who you’ve worked with for reviews of their experience of working with you, especially as we approach the new year and get ready to launch new programs and products. And it’s really important to make it EASY for them to respond by giving them prompts and direction on how to submit and what you’d love to hear about.

  • Bookkeeping (of course!)

I know I know, this one isn’t nearly as fun - but it’s SUPER important. It’s crucial you wrap things up financially in your business so you can make informed decisions in the new year based on your results this past one.

  • Get ORGANIZED!

This is like the end-of-the-year version of spring cleaning. The holidays are a time where you want to be spending it with your family and friends making memories, so take some time to get yourself really organized so it’s possible for you to check-out of your business without feeling that need to get things done.

  • Goal setting, baby!

There is no better time than now to sit and think about the future and get clear on your goals you want to accomplish. Everything from high level big picture goals, all the way down to the small things you want to do, have, or experience in the upcoming future. Fun bonus tip: I love to print off calendars and use different colours markers to sketch out when you would like things to happen. That way we can come back in the New Year and review to ensure we feel good about the vision of our business.

PHEW, that was a load of information, but I hope this inspired you to start looking at what you want to do and accomplish before the year-end.

Most of all, I hope you ENJOY this time making amazing memories and spending quality time with the people in your life who matter. This is the best part of entrepreneurship - the flexibility and ability to take time to do things that we’ll remember forever.
